Although this book does not actually address homelessness issues, it does provide very detailed statistics and information useful in expanding upon the causes of, or factors that contribute to homelessness in northern Canada.

Two chapters are particularly useful for research: "Population Geography" and "Aboriginal Economy and Society." The first chapter mentioned deals with northern demographics, labour movement, economic issues, and the reasons for very few job opportunities for Aboriginal people. The latter chapter describes the social conditions of the northern Aboriginal population, their education levels, and unemployment statistics.
