This scene depicts the struggles that transwomen endure when they are open about who they are. They stage how they have to wear masks, hiding their true identity, to make other people feel more comfortable. Yet, the scene shifts to show how through friendships with other transwomen they find the courage to be who they are, and smash the masks that they used to wear. This scene is a powerful expression of the impact of transphobia on these women's lives.
