This study was completed in August 2005. The information contained within was obtained through surveys from 17 staff as well as through a half-day focus group, attended by 19 staff from 14 youth serving agencies, which took place in March 2005. Prior to analyzing the data from these sources, a literature review was conducted in efforts to understand not only the causal factors implicated in youth homelessness and being at risk of homelessness, but also the current gaps in terms of service provision. The data gathered in this report demonstrates that in working with homeless and transient youth in Scarborough, there are a number of gaps, challenges and barriers.
